DHL Achieves TAPA 'A' Certification for Facilities in Athens and Johannesburg
DHL Express today announced that its facilities in Athens and Johannesburg have received the Technology Asset Protection Association (TAPA) 'A' certification, the highest security standard awarded by TAPA.
Daren Blackwell, Head of Security for DHL Express Emerging Markets said, "We are continually working to improve the service we provide to our customers. This certification shows our commitment to secure and reliable transportation for our customers."
TAPA is a professional association of high -tech companies promoting higher security standards in the international shipping industry and air cargo sector. In an ever-changing global market environment, security is a vital concern and competitive advantage within the express and logistics industry. DHL's investment into enhancing its security standards contributes to a better and safer global air express cargo service.
Combined, the DHL Athens and Johannesburg facilities manage 20,000 shipments per day meeting the needs of DHL's worldwide customer base of over 4 million. Blackwell added that "In both Greece and South Africa, DHL is a pioneer in establishing express services to and from these markets, and through our 'A' certification, DHL is the first express company to be TAPA 'A' certified in Africa and Greece."
